Group Class – Moon

I’ve been having a great time teaching art to the youth in Mira Mesa.  This summer we have been mainly working on painting and a few classes previous to this one we had been working on proportions.  For this painting we got to play with values of blue with a pleasant moon scenery.  We used Read more about Group Class – Moon[…]

Robin’s Birthday Paint Party

I had a fun time painting for Robin’s birthday at Escondido.  I like being able to travel for work sometimes to meet nice people.  When I first got there I noticed some neat horses and it was really hot so it was apt what the birthday lady chose to paint.

Painting at the Park – Family

Today was painting at the park family edition.  I have been hosting a paint workshop for children at the Mira Mesa community park and I wanted to do something for the families as well.  It was cool to see the interpretation of the same painting by varying ages and skill levels.  We had lots of Read more about Painting at the Park – Family[…]

Paint Party at Artea’s

I got the pleasure to do Artea’s paint party, they were a pretty fun loving and funny group.  We got started a bit late and painted even when it got dark.  I had a good time and Artea and everyone were so hospitable and their paintings turned out awesome!

Nadine’s Private Art Class

Nadine received a gift of my class for her birthday from her sons because it’s Nadine’s dream to paint when she retires.  I asked what flower she liked and we got an image and just went at it.  I showed her my techniques in handling acrylic paint and we spent a good time chatting and Read more about Nadine’s Private Art Class[…]

Pots

I have been teaching some of my students sculpture and ceramics.  These are a few that I had left over from examples and I found that these coil pots made perfect succulent/cacti homes.  The last one with the plant inside is a student’s and they look so good all together. ?

Mira Mesa Caterpillar

Beata shared this super cute picture of her daughter atop the Mira Mesa caterpillar to me and I noticed that the caterpillar got a bit worn during 4th of July festivities so I gave it another touch up below.  ?

Painting at the Park

Longship 3rd Anniversary

I sketched the big green knight before his fight at Longship Brewery’s 3rd year anniversary.  It was pretty neat that they had live knight fighting in a sweet Viking themed brewery.  It was my first time there and I got to meet Dan who seemed like a really cool guy.  I stopped by hoping I Read more about Longship 3rd Anniversary[…]

4th of July Electrical Boxes

For Fourth of July I wanted to pretty up some boxes as well as create something festive for the town.  I wanted to have the folks at the base feel like they’re part of the town.  It’s also been annoying me how ugly some of the power boxes are on this part of town when I Read more about 4th of July Electrical Boxes[…]
