I taught my Sandburg kids how to mix color since we will be painting a lot more often. They were pretty crazy today so I will have to figure out some way to keep the classroom flowing more nicely.

This is my end of the summer painting. Behold, a watermelown! 🍉 I love to engage my community especially through public art.
I taught my student last night how to paint mountains in the great Bob Ross’ style. We have learned techniques such as “happy clouds” and to “beat the devil out” of brushes. On a serious note though his brush loading, pallet knife, and blending techniques are pretty ace.
I love seeing variety in art. This is from my fundamentals art class at the Mira Mesa Library where I get to see some new and familiar faces from my community. 🌻
I got the pleasure to paint with the nice folks of CDA (Child Development Associates Inc.) for their corporate team building event and they were so much fun! This group was super fun and enthusiastic! It was a very hot day so it was kind of the Hamburger Factory in Poway to let our awesome group of painters create some artwork in their cool restaurant. I had a small group today, but I think quality versus quantity sometimes is a welcome thing. I did get a lot of inquiries, but for whatever reason the timing didn’t stick as the summer has just arrived and many are graduating also. It’s been gloomy in SD, but my party consisting of lovely ladies from Louisiana were very lively and energetic; so much so that so many tourists kept coming over wanting to take their pictures.
